Only five rounds left! A few big matchups this week. Let's have a look at Round 10 of the Super Rugby Pacific.
Chiefs vs Waratahs
A solid mid-table clash to start the division off. Hopefully we’re treated to a spectacle with a lot of tries. Both sides scored over 40 points last time out. Usually when the sides meet the Chiefs always come out on top. But there’s something new in the air about this Waratahs team. They’re playing well and everyone’s clicking.
Moana Pasifika vs Western Force
Both sides are in abysmal form. You’d say that the Force are the better team on paper, but you can’t write off Moana Pasifika, especially against weaker opposition. Although conceding over 30 in their past five games, we hope we’re not alone in loving the underdog story behind Moana Pasifika. This is a great opportunity for them to grab a win.
Blues vs Fijian Drua
Seems obvious to say, but this is a clear win for the Blues all day long. Unbeaten in the last seven, it’s hard to see them losing to a Drua side that are winless in their last 5. Not to mention their win last week against the Crusaders has put them top of the League, they’ll cement their position this week.
Hurricanes vs Reds
In all six meetings between the sides the Hurricanes have come out on top. The bookies also fancy them. We think that it will be closer than it seems, and the Reds may have the edge.
Both teams won narrowly last week out but the Reds have only suffered one loss so far to the Hurricanes three. They seem to be outperforming the Hurricanes and we don’t see that changing this week.
Highlanders vs Brumbies
A late try cost the Hurricanes what would’ve been back-to-back wins and their second win of the season. They’ll have to dust themselves off and get ready to take on the huge challenge that is the Brumbies. This will be the first time the sides have met since 2018, where the Highlanders blew out the Brumbies 43-17. Unfortunately for them, the tides have changed, and the Brumbies are arguably the best team in the league right now. This should be a straightforward win for the Brumbies.
Crusaders vs Rebels
The rebels so very nearly conquered the Reds last time out. They’ll be able to take positives from that game and hopefully try and give the Crusaders back-to-back losses.
This is highly doubtful though, with the Crusaders averaging 60 points against the rebels over the past five matchups. This should be a great game to watch as a neutral.
