Super Rugby Pacific! Round 9 Preview!

Crusaders vs Blues (Round 5)

This is going to be a huge clash between two of the best teams in the league. Both have six wins and one loss. The Blues are yet to lose since their opening game, so are on a six-game win streak and are coming off the back of a 25-0 shut down of the Chiefs; the only team to beat the Crusaders so far.

We think the Blues should edge this one, but it could go either way. As a neutral it is going to be great to watch, hopefully we get an end-to-end game with a few points settling it.

Round 9

Rebels vs Reds

The Rebels are coming off back-to-back wins and will be on a high coming into this match-up against the Reds. They’ve been improving every game. However, the Reds will be a tough challenge, but a win here would spice up the top of the table with the two teams above the Reds also battling it out this week.

The Reds’ only loss so far has been against the Brumbies about a month ago. They managed to get revenge in the reverse fixture and after a week’s break will be fully prepped for this game.

Last time the sides came together this season, the Reds won convincingly. Unfortunately for the resurged Rebels, we see history repeating itself.

Chiefs vs Moana Pasifika

Tough day at the office for the Chiefs last time out when they failed to score a single point against the Blues. They’ll be hoping to re-gain some form against a Moana Pasifika side that have lost their last four games.

Pasifika play some exciting rugby at times. They’re just getting outclassed by other teams. They’re still new, so hopefully in the coming years, they level the playing field.

This should be an easy win for the Chiefs, but don’t count Pasifika out of scoring a few.

Highlanders vs Hurricanes

The Hurricanes came out on top the last time these two teams met. Both of their last games were against bottom of the league Moana Pasifika, bar that game, both sides are struggling for form. This should be another close contest. Both teams need a result here with games against the high flying Reds and Brumbies coming up for both teams.

Western Force vs Waratahs

The Force have now lost twice by one measly point. That’s got to be tough to swallow. They’ll be hoping their fortunes change against the Waratahs.

Although only winning one of their away games so far this season, the Waratah’s have come close in their other two losses away to the Brumbies and the Reds, both of which were close affairs. We're predicting a Waratahs win here.
